Pancasila University (UP) carried out the Diversity Module II activity together with all Inbound students of the Independent Student Exchange Program (PMM) Batch 3 UP in 2023, in this Diversity Module II activity, 41 PMM Batch 3 students were provided with provision and understanding related to History and the Diversity of Traditions in Jakarta and surrounding areas, students studied the history of Betawi culture by visiting Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII) on (16/09).
All PMM Batch 3 students were given the opportunity to have interactive discussions with facilitators from the DKI Jakarta TMII Pavilion and were also accompanied by the orphanage team and accompanying lecturer Vector Anggit Pratomo, ST., MT. The students were given a lot of understanding related to Betawi history, from the Betawi people themselves, customs, food, traditional clothes and Betawi arts. Apart from that, the students also had the opportunity to go around looking at dioramas, several objects from the past and replicas of the past. used by Betawi people such as paintings, antique objects, such as musical instruments, household furniture, traditional clothing, transportation, and paintings of Betawi figures/cultural figures, all of which can depict the history and struggle for the formation of Jakarta from the past to the present.
This activity was closed by watching together a film about Betawi history from the past to the present and the history of the construction of the DKI Jakarta Pavilion at TMII. The students, who incidentally come from various universities spread across various regions in Indonesia, also have the opportunity to tour each traditional house from all provinces in Indonesia. It is hoped that these students can acculturate every culture that exists in Indonesia, with its diversity. Students will get to know and love all the differences in religion, culture, ethnicity and language in Indonesia.
