         Pancasila University Language Institute (LBUP)

Pancasila University Language Institute (LB-UP) was established on July 15, 1999 by Decree of the Chancellor of Pancasila University Number: 715/Kep.R/UP/VII/1999. LB-UP in collaboration with the LIA Language Institute conducts an English Course in the form of General English so that students have a minimum mastery of English equivalent to a TOEFL score of 400. This is based on the demands of global competition which requires university graduates to have adequate English skills. In 2020, a Survey of Analysis of the English Language Needs of Pancasila University Students was carried out. The survey results show that students' needs are no longer General English, but more specific English. To improve academic English skills and further studies, as well as prepare UP graduates to enter the industrial world, English for Academic Purposes (EAP) was formulated to meet academic goals and English for Occupational Purposes (EOP) to meet the needs of entering the industrial world. At this time, EAP and EOP are integrated into the study program curriculum as General Compulsory Subjects (MKWU). Since 2020, the Language Institute has expanded its services to other foreign languages which include Mandarin and Korean Language Course services, and in 2022 the Chancellor of Pancasila University, Prof. Dr. Edie Toet Hendratno, SH., M.Sc, FCBArb., formed a Mandarin and Korean Language Development Task Force in Chancellor's Decree Number: 473/KEP.R/UP/VII/2022 to facilitate Pancasila University students to have Mandarin and Indonesian language skills Korea.
