Jakarta, 28 February 2024 – Dr. (HC). Ir. Siswono Yudo Husodo, Chair of the Pancasila University Education Foundation and Trustees (YPPUP), officially inaugurated Prof. Dr. Sri Widyastuti, SE, MM, M.SI. as Acting Rector (PLT) until the new Chancellor is appointed, whose duties include: coordinating the entire selection process for existing Deans, preparing the graduation ceremony which is scheduled for May 21 2024, ensuring the entire process of admitting new students is carried out well.
In today's inauguration, the Chair of YPPUP, Dr. (HC). Ir. Siswono Yudo Husodo also explained that since last year, the foundation has been preparing to replace the Chancellor in accordance with the statute that has been passed, where in principle the Chancellor can be chosen in two ways, namely appointment by the foundation or through the Chancellor election process. Since November 2023, YPPUP has decided to hold a rector election from January 2024. This open election is aimed at getting a rector who is credible, understands developments and competition in the world of education, and is able to bring UP to compete in the international and digital world. Â
"In every growth of an institution there will be easy and difficult times, but in every difficult situation, believe me, it is often a process of getting better." Mr. Siswono explained, "Therefore, we ask all leaders to return to carrying out the teaching and learning process in an orderly manner, providing the necessary explanations to lecturers, staff and students."
It further said "YPPUP appeals to the entire academic community to support the smooth running of the current legal process, respect both parties, adhere to the principle of presumption of innocence, and guarantee the rights of the reporter as stated in the Regulation of the Minister of Education, Culture, Research and RI Technology No.30 of 2021. "Let us all work together to maintain the dignity and good name of Pancasila University by continuing to uphold the values of a professional code of ethics."
