Pancasila University Hosts UI GreenMetric 2025 Community Service Working Meeting

Jakarta, May 22, 2025 – Pancasila University (UP) is proud to host the implementation of UI GreenMetric World University Rankings Network Community Service (Pengmas) Working Meeting – Indonesia, which was held online on May 22, 2025. This event presented representatives from 45 universities from all over Indonesia that are members of the UI GreenMetric network and became a strategic forum in designing the implementation of sustainable cross-campus Community Service, with the aim of encouraging synergy and exchange of ideas towards a more sustainable and environmentally friendly campus.

The working meeting was attended by the Chairperson of UI GreenMetric, Prof. Dr. Ir. Riri Fitri Sari, the Chancellor of Pancasila University, Prof. Dr. Adnan Hamid, SH., MH., MM. The National Coordinator of UI GreenMetric Indonesia, Prof. Dr. Ir. Hadiyanto, ST, M.Sc., IPU, as well as the Community Service Team Coordinator and representatives from various universities in Indonesia. The Chairperson of UI GreenMetric, Prof. Dr. Ir. Riri Fitri Sari, expressed her appreciation and spirit of collaboration in her remarks at the Community Service Working Meeting which was attended by representatives of universities from all over Indonesia. In her speech, Prof. Riri emphasized the importance of synergy between universities in encouraging impactful community service, in line with the spirit of Dikti which excels and makes real contributions to society and the environment.

"We must continue to utilize the networks and good practices formed during the pandemic. Online activities that produce structured programs prove that collaboration can still take place effectively," said Prof. Riri. One of the initiatives raised in this forum is Pengmas Bersama, a continuation of the spirit of Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka. Prof. Riri emphasized that this program not only answers the challenges of limitations, but also provides opportunities for students to contribute directly to community development.

"We will continue to encourage collaboration, based on the noble ideal that every step of our service will have an impact on the balance between people, planet, and profit around the world. We must continue to ensure that higher education curricula integrate components of service that have a direct impact on society,” said Prof. Riri.

On this occasion, the Chancellor of Pancasila University, Prof. Dr. Adnan Hamid, SH., MH., MM, expressed his gratitude and appreciation for the trust given to Pancasila University as the host of this strategic activity. "We realize how important the UI GreenMetric forum is as a forum for collaboration and exchange of ideas in realizing a sustainable and environmentally friendly campus. Pancasila University itself has a strong commitment to environmental issues, and we are very enthusiastic to be able to actively participate in the efforts initiated by UI GreenMetric," said Prof. Adnan.

Furthermore, he emphasized the importance of building cooperation between higher education institutions in implementing concrete and broad-impact sustainability practices. "Through this working meeting, we hope to establish closer synergy between universities. We believe that together, we can make a significant contribution to environmental conservation and a better future," he added.

By holding this event, Pancasila University emphasizes its role as a higher education institution that is not only academically superior, but also active in environmental conservation efforts and sustainable development at the national and international levels. global.

The agenda of this working meeting includes group discussions and presentation of discussion results from three main working groups. The three discussion groups discussed topics regarding rundown Community Service activities, case studies and activity assessments, and technical implementation of the program. From the results of the discussion, a number of concrete plans were determined, including the location of the joint Community Service which will be implemented in Kampung Jambangan, Surabaya which will be hosted by Airlangga University in July to August 2026. The theme of the Community Service activities includes environmental issues such as making eco-enzymes, waste processing, hydroponic development, and mentoring MSMEs.
