COMMITTED TO CREATING A SAFE CAMPUS, PANCASILA UNIVERSITY INAUGURATED THE PANCASILA UNIVERSITY SEXUAL VIOLENCE PREVENTION AND HANDLING TASK FORCE (PPKS SATGAS)

Jakarta, 13 December 2023, Pancasila University (UP) carried out the inauguration and oath-taking of the task force for preventing and handling sexual violence (SATGAS PPKS) which was appointed directly by the Chancellor of UP Prof. Dr. Edie Toet Hendratno, SH, M.Si., FCBArb., According to him, "The formation of the PPKS Task Force is one of UP's efforts to implement the Regulation of the Minister of Education, Culture, Research and Technology (Permendikbudristek) Number 30 of 2021 concerning the Prevention and Handling of Sexual Violence in the Higher Education Environment.”

The formation of the PPKS Task Force aims to anticipate that all forms of sexual violence in the campus environment do not occur, so that UP can become a campus that is safe from sexual violence. The PPKS UP Task Force has several main functions in efforts to prevent and handle cases of sexual harassment, namely providing educational programs to increase public awareness about sexual violence and how to prevent it, providing training to various parties, including leaders, lecturers, students, law enforcement officers, medical personnel , teachers, and the general public, to identify, prevent and handle sexual harassment, advocate for changes in policies and legislation that support the prevention of sexual harassment. The PPKS Task Force can also carry out investigations by conducting inquiries and investigations into reports of sexual harassment to collect evidence and enforce the law, provide support to victims.” The UP Chancellor continued in his speech.

At this activity, leaders at the Rectorate and faculty levels as well as representatives of the UP Academic Community were also present. A total of 11 members of the Pancasila University Sexual Violence Prevention and Handling Task Force (SATGAS UP) for the 2023-2025 period who were inaugurated on this occasion were officially sworn in and given the responsibility to involve themselves in efforts to prevent and handle sexual violence within the campus environment.
