Jakarta (14/5) The Faculty of Pharmacy, Pancasila University (FFUP) in collaboration with the Indonesian Young Scientist Association (IYSA) and the Department of Food Science and Technology, IPB University, officially held a prestigious international event entitled The 5th World Science, Environment and Engineering Competition (WSEEC) 2025. This activity was held from 14 to 22 May 2025 with a series of online and offline judging activities, with the main location for offline activities in the 4th Floor Hall, Faculty of Pharmacy Building, Pancasila University, Jakarta.
Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Pancasila University, Prof. Dr. apt. Syamsudin, M.Biomed said ʺWSEEC is a scientific innovation competition intended for students from various levels of education, from Elementary School, Middle School, High School/Vocational, to university students from within and outside the country. This year, the WSEEC event was attended by 370 teams from 14 countries, consisting of 88 offline participant teams and 282 online participant teams. The countries that took part included Indonesia, Turkmenistan, Bangladesh, Malaysia, Thailand, South Korea, Singapore, Vietnam, Kazakhstan, Turkey, Romania, Hong Kong, the United States, and Austriaʺ.
The competition covers various categories of science fields such as Mathematics, Physics, Life Sciences, Energy and Engineering, Technology, Environment, and Social Sciences. The main objective of organizing WSEEC is to provide a space for the young generation to develop critical, creative, and collaborative thinking skills through scientific and innovative approaches.
The series of events begins with an online opening on May 14, 2025, followed by an online participant judging session on May 14–15 and an online awarding ceremony on May 16. Furthermore, the offline opening will be held on May 19, 2025, followed by offline participant judging on May 20, a scientific seminar on May 21, and the peak event in the form of an offline awarding and closing ceremony on May 22, 2025 at the Faculty of Pharmacy, Pancasila University.

Participants will present their projects to an international jury of academics, researchers and industry professionals. Winners will be announced and awarded with awards and opportunities for further collaboration at an international level.
WSEEC is expected to produce more young researchers and future innovators who are able to contribute to solving various global problems through a science and technology approach. This year's implementation is also an important momentum in building international networks and strengthening international collaboration in the fields of education and scientific research. With this fifth year of implementation, WSEEC continues to strengthen Indonesia's role as a host that encourages the advancement of science and sustainable innovation at the global level.
