Raising local wisdom, Pancasila University is developing agro-heritage tourism in the Overtime Sawah Tourism Village in Bogor

Who would have thought that in one corner of the city of Bogor, the local wisdom typical of Pasundan would still be preserved? To be precise, in the Overtime Sawah Tourism Village, Mulyaharja Village, South Bogor, residents still strongly apply Pasundan cultural values in their daily lives. Supported by lush and beautiful natural contours, as well as the graceful backdrop of Mount Salak, Kampung Overtime Sawah has succeeded in attracting the attention of tourists to come to visit. Pancasila University was then present to actively assist residents in developing their tourism.

Lifting the Overtime Sawah branding as the beautiful Bumi Alit Pasundan, the Pancasila University team strengthened community-based tourism products at Overtime Sawah by developing agro-heritage themed tourist routes, as well as improving the quality of culinary products and digital communication strategies as part of a tourism supporting ecosystem. The agro-heritage tourism route is complemented by a narrative of Pasundan local values and wisdom to present a more optimal and educative tourism experience. The results of this development were introduced to the public in a famtrip activity which was held at the Sawah Overtime on November 30 2022. Dozens of residents, the tourism community and Bogor cultural actors who were present seemed very enthusiastic about participating in the famtrip activity. They enthusiastically follow the agro-heritage tourism route that crosses plantation areas, rice fields, traditional Sundanese houses and heritage sites in Kampung Lembur Sawah. "The tour route is varied and fun, suitable for light healing with family or office friends," said Indah Narasati, one of the participants who attended.

Devi Kausar, the UP team leader explained, “This activity is part of the Kedaireka Matching Fund Program from the Ministry of Education and Culture, where through this program we directly apply our knowledge and knowledge to the community. This program is also a form of campus cooperation and synergy with business partners in the industrial world. For this reason, we are collaborating with Indecon - the Indonesian Ecotourism Foundation as a partner in implementing this activity." The Pancasila University (UP) team that develops tours and accompanies can be said to have supportive expertise, consisting of a combination of lecturers and students from three faculties: Tourism, Economics & Business, and Communication Studies who have been involved in overtime rice fields for 3 months since August 2022. Riri, a resident and local tourist actor added, “Before this, we developed self-taught Overtime Rice Field tourism. So when Pancasila University came to accompany us, we were very happy and helped a lot."

The presence of the agro-heritage tourism route in the Overtime Sawah Tourism Village in Bogor is expected to be able to enrich educational tourism options on Pasundan local wisdom for the community, as well as improve the quality of human resources for tourism operators and provide added value to the welfare of Overtime Sawah residents.
