"That is what Ambassador Eddy Pratomo exemplifies, a rare diplomat who never tires of continuing to go to school," said Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno LP Marsudi when giving an introduction at the launch of the autobiographical book "Diplomat Kesasar" by the Indonesian Ambassador to the Federal Republic of Germany (2009 -2013) Prof. Dr. Eddy Pratomo, SH, MA, Dean of the Law Faculty of Pancasila University which was held virtually, Wednesday (21/10).
According to Foreign Minister Retno, apart from studying hard to earn a doctorate degree and being confirmed as a professor of international law, there are other things that need to be learned from the figure of Eddy Pratomo. Namely, the "non-formal career" that he pursued, especially after he retired from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
During the launch of the book which also marked the 54th Anniversary of the University of Pancasila, four discussants appeared who dissected the book from various perspectives.
They are the Director General of Law and International Agreements - Ministry of Foreign Affairs Damos D. Agusman, Director General of General Legal Administration - Ministry of Law and Human Rights Cahyo Muzhar, Director General of Foreign Trade - Ministry of Trade Didi Sumedi, and Inspector General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ibnu Wahyutomo.
The leadership of Pancasila University who has given testimony is Dr. (HC). Ir. Siswono Yudo Husodo, Chairman of the Pancasila Education Foundation and Trustees of the Pancasila University (YPPUP), Prof. D. Edie Toet Hendratno, SH, M.Sc. YPPUP Chairman, and Prof. Dr. Wahono Sumaryono, Apt. Chancellor of Pancasila University.
Moderated by Ambassador Mulya Wirana, the launch of the book published by Elex Media Komputindo which was edited by Nanang Junaedi was also marked by the submission of the book from the publisher to the author.
Currently, Eddy Pratomo is also still carrying out the mandate as Expert Staff of the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries in the field of Combating Illegal Fishing and Expert Staff of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Maritime Boundary Negotiations between Indonesia and neighboring countries.
