Pancasila University (UP) inaugurated 5 Professors within the UP campus environment on (28/09) at the UP Multipurpose Building, Srengseng Sawah Jagakarsa, South Jakarta. In his remarks, UP Chancellor Prof. Edie Toet said that, Today's Professorial Inauguration is an honor and happiness for all UP Academics, that today can hold an Academic Senate meeting by inaugurating 5 Professors at once, this is a rare event for any university in Indonesia. Today we inaugurated 5 Professors with various scientific fields including Prof. Dr. Ir. Dwi Rahmalina, MT. in the Field of Mechanical Engineering in the Master of Mechanical Engineering Study Program, Prof. Dr. apt. Dian Ratih Laksmitawati, M.Biomed. in the Field of Clinical and Community Pharmacy Science in the Pharmacy Science Doctoral Study Program, Prof. Dr. BF Sihombing, SH., MH., in the Field of Law in the Bachelor of Law Study Program, Prof. Dr. Ir. Iha Haryani Hatta, SE., MM. in the Field of Marketing Management in the Bachelor of Management Study Program, and Prof. Dr. Ir. Arissetyanto Nugroho, MM. in the Field of Management Science in the Doctoral Program in Economics at the UP Postgraduate School.
In total, up to now, UP already has 24 Professors spread across 29 Study Programs at UP. In 2021, UP produced the most Lecturers with Academic/Functional Positions with the title of Professor/Professor in DKI Jakarta. We continue to strive to encourage lecturers to be able to achieve the title of Professor or Professor, this is an achievement for Higher Education, because a university that is growing is one of the things seen from the number of Professors and their accreditation, with more and more lecturers holding Professors, the higher the quality of higher education in Indonesia can continue to increase, said Prof. Eddie.
Apart from that, another achievement in 2022 is that there are three study programs that are accredited "SUPERIENCE", namely the Master of Law Study Program, Master of Pharmacy Science and Master of Mechanical Engineering. UP also succeeded in obtaining grants for the Independent Campus Competition Program (PKKM) for 2 Study Programs, namely: Bachelor of Laws and Communication Studies in 2021 and 2022 worth Rp. 2,218,490,000. In addition, UP is also currently ISO 21001: 2018 certified regarding the Organizational Management System of Higher Education, some time ago, we just received a decree from the Minister of Education and Research and Technology, concerning permission to open the Infrastructure and Environmental Engineering Masters Study Program for the Faculty of Engineering, and permission to open The D4 Convention & Event Management (MICE) Study Program, Faculty of Tourism, and we are also currently in the process of opening 1 (one) new study program, namely the Doctor of Law Study Program which is currently still in the process of being evaluated by the assessment team. We will enthusiastically continue to strive for UP to be more advanced, both academically and non-academically, concluded Prof. Edie in her speech.
On this occasion the inaugurated Professors were given the opportunity to deliver their scientific orations. The first oration was delivered by Prof. Dwi with the title Composite Material Engineering for Thermal Energy Storage Applications, followed by the next oration by Prof. Dian Ratih who delivered an oration entitled Herbal Potential and Stem Cells as Natural Materials to Overcome Degenerative Diseases. The third oration was delivered by Prof. Iha with the oration entitled Factors of resilience to negative electronic word of mouth (EWOM) the roles of Self Congrity Brand Attachment and Brand Prestige, the speech which was then delivered by Prof. Sihombing, with the scientific oration entitled Land Conflicts of Western Rights Continues and the last was the scientific oration delivered by Prof. Aris, with the title of scientific oration, namely the Urgency of Education that is Adaptive to the Development of the 5.0 Era and Consumer Behavior in Digital Marketing.
On this occasion also, the Head of LLDikti Region III Dr. Ir. Paristiyanti Nurwardani, MP congratulated the entire UP Academic Community for the inauguration of this Professor. This inauguration could be a new history for UP since its inception, this is the first time that 5 Professors have been inaugurated simultaneously in one year and it is also a new history for LLDikti Region III. We welcome the achievements that UP continues to provide as one of our proud tertiary institutions in LLDikti Region III, we foster as many as 301 PTN and PTS in Jakarta and UP always makes us proud with many excellent things.
Professor is the highest academic achievement for every Lecturer. There are at least 320,000 lecturers in Indonesia, and in LLDikti Region III there are 24,000 lecturers, but there are only 1.51 TP3T lecturers who have the title of Professor, so for all the professors inaugurated today they are exclusive people that we have. So because of that, we ask permission from the Professors who have just been inaugurated to continue to develop their knowledge, in Jakarta alone there are as many as 1 million students who are currently studying, so I hope that Professors can continue to inspire all students in Indonesia especially in DKI Jakarta, because in Indonesia there are at least 9 million students who need guidance and inspiration from ladies and gentlemen. Through this remark, I entrust it to UP, to continue to inspire all Lecturers in the UP campus environment, to be able to raise Head Lecturers to Professors, and for Professors, we ask you to be able to guide Head Lecturers to achieve the same position as Mr. Ladies and gentlemen, I hope that these 5 Professors have to mentor 50 people for each Head Lecturer/Lector, so that each Professor guides at least 10 Lecturers, so that they can provide acceleration for other Prospective Professors.
