Jakarta, October 28, 2024 – Pancasila University (UP) celebrated its 58th anniversary which coincided with the commemoration of Youth Pledge Day. This special momentum is interpreted by UP as an opportunity to celebrate achievements and reflect on the institution's long journey in contributing to education and character building of the nation.
In his remarks, UP Rector, Prof. Dr. Marsudi Wahyu Kisworo, IPU, said that the theme of the 58th Anniversary, “From Good to Great,” highlights two important meanings. First, it is a sense of gratitude for the blessings and achievements that have been obtained during UP’s 58-year journey. Second, it is a momentum for introspection regarding what has been done and the future vision that we want to achieve. “This year, UP will receive the decree of three new Professors who will add to our academic strength. We also target that UP’s presence will not only be recognized in Indonesia, but also at the world level,” said Prof. Marsudi, underlining UP’s international vision.
Chairman of the UP Education and Supervisory Foundation, Dr. (HC) Ir. Siswono Yudohusodo, in his speech invited all UP academics to always be grateful for the achievements made so far. He emphasized the importance of improving institutional culture so that UP can continue to excel in all aspects. "This culture will be the basis of UP's strength to step into a brighter future," he added.
On the same occasion, the Head of LLDIKTI Region 3, Prof. Dr. Toni Toharudin, M.Sc., expressed his appreciation for the theme "From Good to Great," which he considered relevant to the challenges of today's era. "UP's commitment to quality has been seen from the achievements achieved through innovation and strong character. UP continues to form students who are adaptive, productive, innovative, and contributive in accordance with the dynamics of changing times and the needs of society," he explained. Prof. Toni invited the entire UP community to continue to improve their quality, adapt to change, and transform towards a greater vision.
The Chairperson of the 58th Anniversary Implementation Committee, Prof. Dr. Ir. Dwi Rahmalina, MT, in her report, said that this year's Anniversary celebration had begun since August 2024 with various activities, such as sports matches, academic and non-academic competitions, involving the entire UP academic community and high school/vocational high school students throughout Jabodetabek. The involvement of high school/vocational high school students is expected to increase UP's brand awareness in the wider community. In addition, awards were also given to educators and lecturers who had served for 10, 20, to 30 years as appreciation for their dedication in supporting the Tridharma of Higher Education.Â
