Jakarta, August 12, 2024 — The Pancasila Study Center of Pancasila University held a seminar entitled "Pancasila Character for Generation Z and Alpha to Prevent Radicalism" which was held at SMA Kharisma Bangsa, Jakarta, on Monday, August 12, 2024. This seminar was attended by students and teachers with the aim of equipping the younger generation with Pancasila values as an antidote to radicalism.
In the opening of the seminar, the Principal of SMA Kharisma Bangsa, conveyed the importance of activities like this as a preventive effort in maintaining the integrity of the nation. "The young generation, especially Generation Z and Alpha, must be equipped with the values of Pancasila so that they are able to distinguish between what is good and right amidst the increasingly rapid flow of information," he said.
This seminar presented the main speaker, namely Prof. Dr. Agus Surono, SH, MH, who is also the Head of the Pancasila Study Center Institute of Pancasila University. Prof. Agus emphasized that Pancasila must be a guideline for the younger generation in facing the challenges of globalization. "We must ensure that generations Z and Alpha not only know Pancasila as the state ideology, but are also able to apply it in everyday life as a form of real practice," he said.
The seminar was also enlivened by an interactive Q&A session, where students were very enthusiastic in asking about concrete ways to apply Pancasila values in their daily lives. Prof. Agus provided various case examples and solutions that can be applied by students, both in school and at home.
This activity is part of a collaborative program between the Pancasila Study Center of Pancasila University and SMA Kharisma Bangsa in an effort to implement Pancasila character education effectively among students. Through this seminar, it is hoped that SMA Kharisma Bangsa students can become agents of change who are able to practice Pancasila in their lives and become a fortress of defense for the nation from the threat of radicalism.
