Jakarta, June 2, 2025 — The entire academic community of Pancasila University (UP) held a ceremony to commemorate Pancasila Day solemnly and with full national spirit on campus. This activity was attended by the leadership of the University, the Pancasila University Education and Supervisory Foundation (YPP UP), lecturers, education staff, students, and representatives of student organizations and the UP Student Regiment.
In his speech, UP Rector Prof. Dr. Adnan Hamid, SH., MH., MM. as the Ceremony Instructor, emphasized that as a higher education institution bearing the name "Pancasila", UP has a moral responsibility to be at the forefront in maintaining, practicing, and disseminating the values of Pancasila, both within the campus environment and in the community.
"The commemoration of Pancasila Birth Day is an important moment to remember the struggle of the nation's founders who formulated Pancasila as the foundation of the state. In the midst of global challenges and an era full of uncertainty, the values of Pancasila are a moral and national compass that we must continue to maintain," he said.
In line with the national theme of Pancasila Birth Day 2025, "Strengthening the Pancasila Ideology Towards a Greater Indonesia", UP affirms its commitment to continue strengthening the role of the campus as a center for fostering national ideology. Through character-oriented education, research that supports the values of humanity and justice, and inclusive community service, UP strives to be a catalyst in forming a generation with integrity and ready to realize the ideals of a sovereign, just, and prosperous Greater Indonesia.
UP also affirmed its commitment to continue instilling Pancasila values in all aspects of the implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, education, research, and community service. Curriculum that is relevant to national values, research with Pancasila themes, and community service that has a real impact will continue to be developed and strengthened.
"UP has done many community service activities. However, in the future, we encourage these activities to be carried out collaboratively between lecturers and students across faculties, so that the benefits are wider and felt in the community," he added.
On that occasion, the academic community was also invited to make ethnic, religious, and cultural diversity a strength, not a divider. The spirit of tolerance and unity is the main foundation in realizing an inclusive and harmonious campus.
Closing his remarks, Prof. Adnan expressed his hope that this year's commemoration of Pancasila Birth Day would be a momentum to strengthen the shared commitment to Pancasila as the foundation of the state and the nation's outlook on life.
“UP is ours. We guard it, we build it together, so that it remains dignified and continues to be an important part in creating a just, prosperous, and prosperous society,” concluded Prof. Adnan.
