The UP Community Service Team Empowers Non-Economic Community Groups to Become Social Motivators

The Pancasila University Community Service Team consisting of Lecturers of the Mechanical Engineering Study Program, Faculty of Engineering, Pancasila University (FTUP) and Lecturers of the Management Study Program, Faculty of Economics and Business, Pancasila University (FEBUP) carried out Community Service activities in collaboration with the location of the Nurul Amanah Foundation partners who were not far from the UP campus environment. The theme of the Community Service this time is "Empowering Non-Economic Community Groups in Religious Education Institutions to Become Social Motivators", this is the 2019 Kemenristek Dikti Community Service Grant activity for the Community Partnership Program (PKM).
This service activity is a form of contribution and concern for the community through product design training using design software, application of household waste processing technology into handicraft products, and entrepreneurship training. Younger siblings from the Nurul Amah Foundation are representatives who will become agents of change so that they can influence friends in their surroundings to be aware of and care about waste management and are able to pass on waste management knowledge and the basics of entrepreneurship. Training and implementation was held between 16-18 July 2019, where the output of this activity was the presence of agents of change in partners and the application of the principles of household waste management, so that household waste from activities at the Nurul Amanah Foundation can be managed according to government policy, it was stated by FTUP Lecturer Dr. Agri Suwandi, ST., MT who is also the chairman of this community service activity, when met at the Laboratory of Product Design & Surgery, Department of Mechanical Engineering FTUP (16/07).

The transformation of conventional household waste processing habits, namely by burning or planting or dumping it on the ground, into processing household waste into products of economic value, requires educational transformation, especially at a young age. Youth as successors and guardians of the Nation, are the spearhead of this transformation, continued Agri. youth, so that in addition to protecting the environment, reprocessed waste can have added economic value for residents, continued Agri.
