Al Azhar University Indonesia & Pancasila University Explore Collaboration in Mandarin Language Learning

Jakarta, 3 July 2024 – Al Azhar University Indonesia (UAI) paid an official visit to Pancasila University (UP) in order to explore cooperation in learning Mandarin. The visit, which took place at the UP Rectorate building on July 3 2024, was attended by a delegation from UAI led by the Director of the Chinese Side of CI UAI, Mr. Wang Daxin.

During the visit, the delegation from UAI was received directly by the Head of the Language Institute (LBUP), Mrs. Dr. Fitria Angeliqa, M.Si., Delegate from the International Cooperation Relations Institute (LHKI) Mr. Haris Nugroho, SH, LL.M. and the Head of UP's Public Relations and Venture Bureau, Mrs. Maharani Ardi Putri, M.Sc., Psychologist and other staff. 

Dr. Fitria Angeliqa, M.Si. explain “Learning Mandarin is becoming increasingly important in this era of globalization. Mandarin is one of the most widely spoken languages in the world and is the key to opening international career opportunities. "This collaboration with Al Azhar University Indonesia will open up new opportunities for our students to develop their language skills and cultural insight."

The visit agenda includes discussions regarding the Mandarin learning curriculum and teaching methods. The two universities also discussed the possibility of holding joint degree programs and intensive Mandarin language courses that would involve teachers from China. Both parties hope that this collaboration can be realized soon.
