Pancasila University (UP) and Enverga University Philippines through the Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation have collaborated to support the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially in achieving SDG 4-Quality Education and SDG 17-Partnership for the Goals. The signing of this collaboration was carried out in Jakarta on Saturday, February 24 2024.
This collaboration aims to create opportunities for mutually beneficial international collaboration. In his speech, the Chancellor of Pancasila University stated that Indonesia and the Philippines are two countries that have close relations, so cooperation in the fields of education and arts and culture is the right step to strengthen both parties.
The UN agenda for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) has become the main focus for governments, institutions and communities throughout the world, including universities. It is hoped that the implementation of collaboration between UP and Enverga University can be a real contribution in achieving the SDGs goals.
The Vice President for Partnership and Global Engagement from Enverga University also emphasized that the two universities have many similarities in various fields, so this condition is very supportive for strategic cooperation that is in line with the SDGs agenda.
The collaboration between UP and Enverga University did not only stop at signing the MoU, but was also realized through a public lecture with the theme "Phillipines Tourism Outlook" delivered by Dr. Jennifer Reyes from CIHTM Enverga University. This public lecture was attended by around 150 Pancasila University students, which was the first step in broadening students' insight and knowledge about global issues, including those related to sustainable development.
