August 20, 2024 – In an effort to strengthen student protection and create a safe educational environment, the South Jakarta Guidance and Counseling Teachers' Deliberation Forum (MGBK) held a Workshop on the Implementation of the Sexual Violence Prevention Learning Module (PPKS) for high school and vocational school levels in the South Jakarta area. The activity, which took place in the Hall of the Faculty of Economics and Business, Pancasila University, was a manifestation of UP's support for MGBK South Jakarta, and was attended by BK teachers and counselors in the area.
This workshop aims to educate educators about the importance of preventing sexual violence in the school environment. The learning modules discussed in this workshop are prepared based on the Regulation of the Minister of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology Number 30 of 2021. This module was presented by Mrs. Juli Sugiati, M.Pd (Chair of MGBK SMA Region 1 South Jakarta) comprehensively to identify, prevent, and handle sexual violence, as well as provide guidance for educators in supporting students who are victims.
In addition to delivering the material, this activity also involved interactive discussions to ensure that educators understand and are able to implement the modules effectively in their respective schools. The activity, which was opened by the Head of the South Jakarta Region 1 Education Sub-dept. Sarwoko, M.Pd., was attended by the Chancellor of UP Prof. Dr. Ir. Marsudi Wahyu Kisworo, IPU., Secretary of Pancasila University, Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs & Alumni and Marketing Director of Pancasila University, Dean and Vice Dean 2 of the Faculty of Economics and Business UP.Â
On the same occasion, the election of the Chairperson of the Guidance and Counseling Teachers' Conference (MGBK) of Senior High Schools and Vocational High Schools in South Jakarta Region 1 and Region 2 was also held. This election is an important step in strengthening the role of BK teachers in supporting the implementation of programs aimed at preventing all forms of violence in Senior High Schools and Vocational High Schools. From the results of the MGBK Chairperson election, Mr. Mujito was elected as Chairperson of MGBK South Jakarta Region 1 and Mr. Imam Syahrul R. as Chairperson of MGBK South Jakarta Region 2.
This activity is expected to create a positive impact in preventing sexual violence in educational environments, as well as forming a school culture that values gender equality and safety for all students.
