Pancasila University and PT Biofarma Hold Public Education on the Importance of HPV Vaccination: An Investment in Future Health

Pancasila University, in collaboration with PT. Biofarma, held a public awareness event titled "The Importance of HPV Vaccination: An Investment in Future Health," held at the At-Taqwa Mosque Hall at Pancasila University. The event was attended by UP academics and the general public, aiming to raise awareness of the importance of cervical cancer prevention through HPV screening and vaccination. (12/8)

The event began with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Pancasila University and PT Biofarma as a form of shared commitment to educating the public about cervical cancer prevention.

In his remarks, Prof. Dr. apt. Ni Made Dwi S., S.Si., M.Kes., Head of the Institute for Research and Community Service, said, "The theme of this activity reminds us that prevention is far better than cure. HPV vaccination not only protects individuals but is also a strategic step to improve the quality of public health and save future generations from this preventable disease. Through this activity, we hope that participants will gain comprehensive knowledge about HPV, the benefits of vaccination, and how we can become agents of change in our respective environments."

Pancasila University Rector Prof. Dr. Adnan Hamid, SH, MH, MM added, "Health is a valuable asset for every individual. Through this outreach, we want to encourage the entire community, especially the younger generation, to care about their health and take preventive measures as early as possible. HPV vaccination not only protects oneself but also represents a long-term health investment for the future of the nation."

In the outreach session, resource person Dr. Nida Amelia Hashifah comprehensively explained HPV screening using the DNA method from urine samples, as well as the benefits of HPV vaccination in providing double protection against cervical cancer. Participants also received benefits such as discounts on immunizations for more than 50%.

Through this activity, Pancasila University hopes that more people will be aware of the importance of early detection and vaccination as disease prevention measures, so that the quality of Indonesian public health can improve significantly.
