Pancasila University through the Quality Assurance Institute (LPM-UP) held a Socialization activity for the Internal Quality Assurance System (SPMI) on Thursday, June 12, 2025. This activity took place in the At-Taqwa Mosque Hall of Pancasila University and was attended by the leadership ranks at the university level, faculty leaders, Heads of Study Programs, SJM, and UPPM, Heads of Divisions, Managers, Heads of Sections within the UP.
This socialization aims to ensure the implementation of the PPEPP cycle (Planning, Implementation, Evaluation, Control, and Improvement) continuously in all units and study programs at Pancasila University. In addition, this activity is written and documented evidence of the consistency of the implementation of the internal quality assurance system, which will be an important reference in accreditation or external quality audits by the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN-PT) or the Independent Accreditation Institution (LAM).
In his remarks, UP Rector, Prof. Dr. Adnan Hamid, SH., MH., MM. emphasized that this activity is not just an administrative agenda, but a strategic and fundamental step to ensure that all academic and non-academic processes run consistently, standardized, and sustainably. The Rector also said that the internal quality assurance system is not just an accreditation instrument, but has become a reflection of the institution's quality culture that grows from within.
"SPMI must become a collective habit for all UP academics, from study programs to universities, from lecturers to education personnel," said the Rector. He also reminded that the implementation of the PPEPP cycle (Determination, Implementation, Evaluation, Control, and Improvement) must be carried out in a scheduled and well-documented manner, not only when approaching an audit.
Furthermore, he invited all leaders and managers of study programs to make the SPMI device a reference for daily work and make quality a shared commitment, not just an administrative obligation. Through this socialization, Pancasila University hopes to strengthen the implementation of SPMI as a whole in order to realize a superior, quality, and highly competitive university, both at the national and international levels.
This socialization event presented two main speakers, namely Dr. Nurmala Akhmar, SE., M.SI., AK., CA. as the Head of the UP Quality Assurance Institute and Dr. Laela Chairani, ST., MT. A lecturer from the UP Faculty of Engineering who is also a regional facilitator from LLDikti, explained the urgency and direction of SPMI implementation in accordance with the latest regulation, namely Permendikbudristek No. 53 of 2023 concerning Higher Education Quality Assurance.
In their presentations, the speakers emphasized that SPMI is not just an accreditation requirement, but a system that supports the achievement of sustainable quality in the higher education environment. SPMI must be implemented systematically and documented through the PPEPP cycle (Determination, Implementation, Evaluation, Control, and Improvement). This is in line with the obligation to adjust the higher education system as regulated by the Circular of the Director General of Higher Education No. 3 of 2024.
Participants gained an in-depth understanding of mandatory SPMI documents covering policies, PPEPP cycle implementation guidelines, SPMI standards, and SPMI documentation and implementation procedures. In addition, the integration of SPMI reporting into the Kemdiktisaintek SPMI online application was also socialized to ensure an accurate and relevant reporting process.
With this activity, Pancasila University hopes that all elements of the academic community understand their strategic role in realizing a solid internal quality system that is oriented towards improving the quality of sustainable higher education.
