Pancasila University (UP) held an Introduction to Campus Life for New Students (PKKMB) activity for the 2024/2025 academic year. This activity was attended by 2,093 new students from various levels and study programs, which was held at the UP Multipurpose Building (GSG) for four days, from September 2 to 5, 2024.
The PKKMB event was attended by a number of important figures, including the Chairperson of the UP Education and Supervisory Foundation (YPPUP), Dr. (HC) Ir. Siswono Yudohusodo, Chairperson of the YPPUP Supervisory Board General TNI (Ret.) H. Agum Gumelar, and the Chancellor of Pancasila University Prof. Dr. Ir. Also present were the Vice Chancellors and Deans from each Faculty at Pancasila University.
In his remarks, the Chancellor of Pancasila University, Prof. Dr. Ir. Marsudi Wahyu Kisworo, IPU, said that new students should be proud because Pancasila University has achieved "Excellent" accreditation based on BAN-PT Decree No. 1091/SK/BAN-PT/Ak.Ppj/XII/2023. There are only 65 universities out of 4,474 universities in Indonesia that have received this accreditation, indicating that only 1,451 TP3T universities have succeeded in achieving this achievement. Prof. Dr. Ir. Marsudi also emphasized the importance of the regulations contained in the Chancellor's Decree No. 1188/PER.R/UP/VI/2013 concerning Efforts to Build a Pancasila University Campus that is Free from Drugs, Alcohol, Gambling, Violence, and Fighting on Campus.
Meanwhile, the Head of YPP UP Advisory Board, Dr. (HC) Ir. Siswono Yudohusodo, gave a message to new students to improve their soft skill competencies, including mastery of foreign languages other than English such as Mandarin, Japanese, and Korean. Dr. (HC) Ir. Siswono hopes that new students can become competent global players and be able to manage their time well during their studies, so that they get high added value.
This PKKMB activity is expected to provide new students with a deeper understanding of campus life and the values of Pancasila University, as well as prepare them to face academic and non-academic challenges with enthusiasm and dedication.
