UP socializes the Lambemba Study Program Accreditation instrument

Pancasila University (UP) held a socialization of Study Program Accreditation Instruments (APS) for the Independent Accreditation Institute for Economics, Business Management and Accounting (Lamemba) to increase the understanding of study program managers in tertiary institutions. "The socialization of this accreditation instrument is very important for us study programs to have facilitated Lamemba because there are study program clinics every two weeks asking how to evaluate this, and what are the obstacles," said UP Deputy Chancellor for Academic Affairs Prof Dr Sri Widyastuti SE MM MSi at the UP Jakarta Campus, Tuesday.

Present at the event were the Chancellor of UP Prof. Dr. Edie Toet Hendratno, Chairperson of the Association of Indonesian Economic Scholars (ISEI) Jakarta Inarno Djajadi, Chair of the Lamemba Executive Board Prof. Ina Primiana, member of the Lamemba Executive Board Dr. Ahyar Yuniawan, and member of the Lamemba Executive Board Prof. Ria Mardiana Yusuf.

Prof. Sri said that any difficulties were immediately explained about the new Lambemba instrument with full understanding to the study program managers at each tertiary institution. "So, there's no need to worry. Moreover, study programs also have developments in accordance with the Strategic Plan (strategic plan) of each tertiary institution," he said. According to Prof. Sri certainly has stages of development and the demands of society are getting better and of national and international class. That is also what universities really want to reach a global level.

"Don't lose out in competition with other universities abroad," said Prof. Sri. Meanwhile, Member of the Executive Board of Lamemba Ahyar Yuniawan said the socialization this time was to increase the theoretical understanding of study program managers regarding demands and other matters in the Lamemba APS instrument. “There are no obstacles, it's just that we haven't understood them, of course we will help. We can finish it by socializing to meet in person to discuss until we can understand," he said.

He explained that the APS Lambemba instrument has a validity period of 5 years. If there is no official policy from the government to adjust, the instrument will not change but if there are changing industry demands, the instrument may also change. So, you don't have to always follow government demands, but also follow industry developments.

General Secretary of the Association of Indonesian Economic Scholars (ISEI) Jakarta Halim said that his party fully supports the APS Lamemba instrument socialization program because there are still many tertiary institutions that do not understand the APS Lamemba instrument. He said the Lambemba APS instrument had only 7 standards to 9 standards. So, it is necessary to continuously socialize in order to grow understanding. He explained that ISEI certainly wants to contribute to helping the government in socializing the APS Lambemba instrument.
