The entire academic community of Pancasila University (UP) carried out a ceremony to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia's independence, Saturday (17/08) at the Srengseng Sawah Jagakarsa Campus, South Jakarta, of course with due observance of the applicable health protocols. The commemoration of the Republic of Indonesia's Independence Day this time is different from previous years, due to the Covid-19 pandemic that has hit to date, the ceremony this time is limited to attendees because it avoids crowds. Acting as Inspector of the UP Rector Ceremony, Prof. Dr. Wahono Sumaryono, Apt. In his address, he conveyed the spirit of independence for all academics. In commemoration of Indonesia's independence day this time the Chancellor invites all campus residents, community members and citizens to continue to provide the best whatever profession they are in, to continue to make the best contribution in advancing the nation and state amid this covid pandemic so as to be able to restore economic stability which is currently This is currently declining, not only in Indonesia but almost all over the world are feeling this impact.
In his remarks, the Chancellor conveyed several things, one of which was related to UP's current achievements. The Chancellor added, to all academicians, let's continue to strive to provide the best for campus performance, for the community and this nation, so that ultimately UP is not only assessed as an "Ivory Tower" but is more functional and effective as a "Beacon Tower" that provides enlightenment and intelligence. for the community, providing direction in the development of science and technology and at the same time being a "Water Tower" to encourage and improve the Socio-Economic life of the Community through science and technology-based community service programs, let's work real for the progress of UP, said Prof. Wahono.
